Bulgarian Customs Seizes Apparel, Perfumes, Shoes and Toys

The Customs officials at the Bulgarian-Turkish border control points “Kapitan Andreevo” and “Varna Zapad” seized in three cases a significant amount of counterfeit apparel, perfumes, shoes and toys bearing well-known trade marks.

In the first case the customs officials seized 1716 apparel goods in a truck with a Bulgarian registration travelling from Istanbul to Sofia. There were 1607 children’s T-shirts with the “Disney” logo and the Micky Mouse cartoon hero. Additionally, the customs officials found 663 track suits and shorts bearing the trade mark “Adidas” as well as 105 track suits with the “Nike” logo.

In the second case the customs officials inspected a bus travelling from Istanbul to Bucharest. In the personal luggage of three passengers with Romanian citizenships were found 1716 perfumes and eau du toilets bearing the trade marks Givenchi, Pako Rabanne, Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Versace, Hugo Boss. The officials also seized 590 T-shirts, track suits and shirts with the trade marks „Armani", „Tommy Hilfiger", „Calvin Klein" and 167 trainers „Adidas".

In the third case the customs officials seized at the port of Varna in a container from China 7 512 toys with the logo and images of brands and heroes such as Minions, Iron Man, Spiderman, Marvel, Transporter, Star Wars and Frozen. In the container there were 8 700 hand watches with the trade marks Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein.

The customs officials also reported on the seizure of three containers from China with 23 326 counterfeit toys at the Varna port.
