MADARA LAW has a proud history of providing superior legal advice that stretches back to 1992. The strong need for independent attorney-at-laws to protect the rights and interests of the citizens in the new Bulgaria was experienced at the onset of the process of democracy in the Bulgarian society. This served as an impulse for many judges and prosecutors to take the side of citizens and the civil society. Therefore, the managing partner of MADARA LAW - Mr. Krassimir Rouev resigned as the chairman of the Kyustendil district court and established his own law practice back in 1992. In the course of time his law practice acquired substantial experience in many branches of the law, placing it amongst the leading law offices in the country. Some of the most prominent cases which are led by Mr. Krassimir Rouev include: restitutional claims on behalf of the Bulgarian State against the former monarch and prime minister of the Republic of Bulgaria – Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, the largest litigation for the concessition of one of the main mineral resources in Bulgaria, advising on the issues of restructuring of the main pharmaceutical company in Bulgaria “Balkanpharma” followings its privatization.
Towards the end of 2014 a new stage of the firm’s development began dictated by the client’s need for legal services in the field of the publishing industry and intellectual property matters. Mrs. Iana Roueva Madey was hired by the firm in her capacity as a partner and became also a co-founder of what is now known as MADARA LAW. Mr. Ivan Nedev, a former Supreme Court of Cassation judge joined our team as partner providing legal advice in the areas of intellectual property, anti-counterfeiting and criminal law.
To meet the frequent needs of domestic and foreign clients in the Russian Federation and Romania MADARA LAW established partnerships with Magister & Partners LLC and Diligens Intellectual Property. Our partners share the same values, expertise and dedication to clients.
