Mr. Ivan Nedev is a partner at MADARA LAW and leads the anti-counterfeiting and fraud & asset recovery department at the firm.
He has served as a Judge of the Kyustendil District Court from 1975 to 1979 and as a Judge of the Kyustendil Regional Court from 1979 to 1988. Subsequently he was appointed vice-chairman of the Kyustendil Regional Court and served in that capacity from 1988 to 1990. In 1990 he became the chairman of the Kyustendil Regional Court. In 1991 he was appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Republic of Bulgaria – a position he held until July 2014. Ivan Nedev has also been the head of various departments within the Supreme Court of Cassation.
He has had the opportunity to manage thousands of cases, assist in settlement and preside over trials of every type of civil, commercial, administrative and criminal law matters that arise before the Kyustendil District and Regional Courts and the Supreme Court of Cassation.
Ivan Nedev has taught for over 15 years at the School for Magistrates where future judges and prosecutors are trained. He has also been a long-stranding member of the Sofia University “St. Kilment Ohrdiski” Law Faculty State Admission Commission.
As partner in MADARA LAW, Ivan Nedev capitalizes on his vast legal experience in criminal, commercial law and intellectual property issues to serve the legal community as an experienced legal counselor in criminal and civil law matters that concern anti-counterfeiting and intellectual property law.
